A quick example on what $GPHDT messages are. Keep in mind that the sentence Identifier can also be displayed as $GNHDT. The message is the same but some GNSS receivers use this format
$GPHDT
Heading, True.
Actual vessel heading in degrees Ture produced by any device or system producing true heading.
$–HDT,x.x,T
x.x = Heading, degrees True
