A quick example on what $GPRTE messages are. Keep in mind that the sentence Identifier can also be displayed as $GNRTE. The message is the same but some GNSS receivers use this format.

- Sentence number
- ‘c’ = Current active route, ‘w’ = waypoint list starts with destination waypoint
- Name or number of the active route
- onwards, Names of waypoints in Route
